We live in a world where the future of all humanity is more firmly interwoven than ever before. Our political vision must be internationalist in thought and action since strong international efforts are needed to avert global ecological, political and social disaster.
Anti-War
We consider it our duty to outlaw wars and military force and to strive for complete disarmament. The CSP believes that to begin this process the world's only remaining superpower must be disarmed. To this end, we call for an immediate cut of 50% in the military budget, to be followed by even more substantial cuts, with the aim of rapidly reducing the military budget to less than 10% of its current level. The hundreds of billions of dollars we thus save would be redirected to essential social services, such as people's health care, education, housing and mass transit.
Anti-Repression
We reiterate our complete opposition to NATO, its expansion and demand an end to this and all other aggressive military organizations. Moreover, we call for abolition of the CIA, the National Security Agency as well as all other forms of covert warfare.
Against Neo-Liberalism
We want to build new and better alternatives to global neo-liberalism. We regard the current internationalization of social life to be an opportunity to overcome nationalism and develop the huge cultural and material wealth of the plante for all people. Yet, the disintegration of the Soviet Bloc has unleashed ever growing violent and murderous waves of nationalism while financial neo-liberal globalization stands in the way of making the world more democratic. An alternative policy can only be successful if the people manage to fend off the neo-conservative attack on the very foundations of social security and democratic rights.
International Development
The obsession with the market and power on the part of the international corporations, the World Bank, WTO and the IMF results in the exploitation of human beings and destruction of ntaure across the globe. CSP, in contrast, calls for the rights of the peoples of the world Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe to full, complete economic independence with democracy, social equality & self-determination. We must abolish all wars, and overcome the worldwide threats to the environment that arise along with underemployment, hunger, deprivation and environmental destruction as a result of underdevelopment of large parts of the globe. It is particularly urgent to eliminate hunger and deprivation in large parts of Africa, Asia and Latin America. The poorest countries must be freed from their debts. The transfer of resources, which now primarily functions from the poor and poorest nations to the richest, must be reversed.
